The successful candidate will provide day to day management and supervision of Household Goods Operations and the necessary processes for the efficient door-to-door shipping of household goods and general cargo internationally. This is an office-based role in Virginia.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the HHG Department's workload and output for the International Division.
- Assuring that all export/import processes are accurate and consistent.
- Coordinating rate/salary increases with human resources.
- Creating and amending a reference document that details the moving and storage processes.
- Hiring and firing staff members; evaluating the effectiveness of Coordinators, Administrative Assistants, and Specialists on the job.
- Providing new hires with training on both company policies and international export and import regulations.
- Making sure employees continue to receive sufficient training.
- Travelling to various international moving conferences and events, promoting the business to current and potential clients, as required.
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience in the Moving sector.
- Extremely well-organized with instinctive management and leadership abilities.
- Exceptional communicator who feels at ease interacting with staff and management at all levels.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferable.
- Understanding of US Government and ITGBL processes and contracts is necessary.
- A valid driver’s license and passport for international travel.
- Strong operational and commercial business knowledge preferred.
- Solid IT abilities and prior knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
