Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is partnering with a global advisory company that provides strategic intelligence and cyber advice to businesses globally to help them mitigate risks, identify opportunities, and source information to support decision-making. 

They currently have an exciting opportunity in Japan for a Business Development Director, Strategic Intelligence.

This role operates within the Business Development team and focuses on client management, developing new business, and driving business development initiatives. This client-facing position plays a crucial role in fostering new and repeat business for the company.

Role and Responsibilities
Our clients team is drawn from government, finance, law, and advisory/ consultancy; experience in one or more of these areas is desirable.
In the role of Business Development Director, you will:

  • Discover and develop new business opportunities by engaging with potential and existing clients.
  • Lead communication and proactively engage with potential clients to generate interest and build strong relationships.
  • Manage existing clients during ongoing projects and beyond, maintaining relationships and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
  • Continuously engage with existing clients to explore potential new work or reconnect with those who haven’t worked with the company recently.
  • Assist the execution team in managing ongoing projects, including communicating findings and managing client expectations.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to business development, including reporting on meetings and client engagements, and actively participating in the BD community.


Requirements

  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese and fluency in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with senior executives across various industries.
  • Proven track record in client engagement, ideally in business development, within Professional Services, consultancy, finance, law, policy, or intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with global teams.
  • Background in roles involving direct client interaction and relationship management.
