Our client, an international logistics provider is looking to hire an experienced Business Development Manager, Freight Forwarding to be based remotely on the East Coast, USA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Focus on selling Freight Forwarding services including Import, Export, Air, Ocean, and Road Freight
  • Liaise with and request quotes directly from shipping lines and airlines
  • Seek opportunities to generate new business and increase sales through prospecting and cold calling 
  • Prepare quotes for international freight forwarding services 
  • Negotiate rates and route freight when necessary
  • Ensure sales targets are met and exceeded 
  • Attend industry relevant events to generate leads, increase brand awareness and build relationships

Main Requirements:
  • At least 2 years Sales & Business Development experience in Freight Forwarding, Logistics or Shipping 
  • Experience selling Import, Export, Air, Ocean, and Road Freight services, US Government experience an advantage
  • Experience working directly with and obtaining quotes from shipping lines and airlines 
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with new and existing clients 
  • Happy to travel as required
