Alchemy has partnered with a Gallery in New York, who are looking to bring on a Gallery Coordinator.

This role would be suitable for someone with a varied background within the art industry, with skills in but not limited to; gallery operations, supporting leadership teams, and administrative duties. 

Responsibilities:
  • Help with administrative duties, arranging travel, diary management and other tasks associated with the gallery. 
  • Oversee, organise, and schedule the installation process for the gallery, assist with packing and handling.
  • Managing exhibition and event planning, as well as installation and de-installation. 
  • Provide organisational support for the inventory and storage that is onsite physically and digitally. 
  • Manage the Gallery owners’ calendar, arrange meetings, schedule flights and any other adhoc duties as required.
  • Help the Director with the upkeep, cataloguing and management of the off-site storage also assisting with gallery construction and oversee repairs. 
  • Coordinate with vendors and gallery staff, keeping track of project status, to manage quotation requests and the timeline of production. 
  • Liaise with artists, workshops and colleagues to organise the production and development of products. 
  • Manage, organise, and archive all correspondence and data from product development such as quotes, budgets, schedules, and drawings. 
  • Create attainable deadlines and goals, making sure they are met by establishing and setting up meetings, agendas, and teamwork. 
Requirements:
  • Previous experience within a similar role within the Art or Design field, within a Gallery, Workshop of Studio is required. 
  • Computer efficient with good knowledge of Microsoft.
  • Ability to speak another language is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be flexible with working hours to support with events and exhibitions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage projects. 
  • Knowledge of the Art and Design industry and an understanding of artistic practice.
