Our client, an expanding Fine Art Shipping and Logistics company, is looking for a General Manager, Fine Art to join their team in Hong Kong.
The General Manager, Fine Art will be responsible for leading and developing the team in Hong Kong and will oversee the warehouse and logistical operations, servicing internationally recognised Museums, Art Fairs, Art Galleries and Auction Houses.
General Manager, Fine Art Key Duties:
- Develop annual budgets for the Asia Fine Art Sector.
- Pay close attention to Fine Art trends and identify new and diverse opportunities.
- Build client relationships with influential figures within the Fine Art sector.
- Work closely with other members of the wider company Operations, HR, Sales & Marketing, Strategy and Finance Teams to manage Profit and Loss and strategic operations.
- Extend and adapt the company's Fine Art services, including location expansions.
- Undertake strategic business development.
- Lead Fine Art team to ensure all operational requirements are met.
- Build rapport with Fine Art vendor decision-makers.
- Manage Service Providers and Vendor functions.
- Successfully manage the warehouses, fleet and Fine Art handling teams across the business, paying close attention to the training and supervision requirements of individual teams.
- Ensure the Hong Kong department sufficiently provides support to the global Fine Art network.
Skills and Experience:
- Educated to degree level.
- Relevant Managerial experience from a commercially driven environment.
- Knowledge and experience of Budgeting/Forecasting procedures and policies.
- Ability to Provide Market Analysis and Trading Reports.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, not limited to change delivery, people motivation and management and strategic direction.
- Understanding of the Local, Regional, and Global Fine Art market.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Comfortable with travelling, as required.
- Ability to build and maintain good client relationships.
- Excellent client relationship and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain valuable relationships with clients.
- Flexible and adaptable attitude.
