Alchemy is assisting a well-established moving company based in Shanghai with their search for a General Manager.

The General Manager will be in charge of supervising and controlling every facet of the business's Shanghai moving and relocation services. Customer interactions, company development, operational management, and strategic leadership are all part of the job. To promote expansion, guarantee operational quality, and uphold the highest standards of customer satisfaction, the general manager will collaborate closely with the regional leadership. 

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Create and carry out moving business plans to promote expansion and financial success.
  • Motivate, coach, and lead the group to accomplish company objectives.
  • Oversee all aspects of day-to-day moving operations, such as scheduling, logistics, planning, and service provision.
  • Find new moving business prospects and keep up with important customers.
  • Work together with the marketing and sales departments to increase market share and build brand presence.
  • Improve profitability by analysing financial performance and making data-driven decisions.
  • Continue to provide excellent customer service to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for important clients, handling problems and controlling expectations.


Requirements for the role include:

  • Shown expertise in a managerial or leadership position in the moving and relocation sector.
  • Thorough understanding of local laws pertaining to moving and relocation services as well as the Shanghai market.
  • Excellent business sense and the capacity to create and carry out strategic ideas.
  • Outstanding operational management abilities, emphasising scheduling, logistics, and process enhancement.
  • Financial literacy encompasses financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities and a history of preserving high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Leadership abilities with the capacity to uplift, encourage, and foster team growth.
