Our client a global services firm is looking to hire a Group Accounts Payable assistant to join their Singapore branch.

The Group Accounts Payable Assistant will be responsible for the managing the daily processing of supplier invoices, the reconciliation of supplier statements, the creation of weekly and monthly payment runs for each office.

Responsibilities of the Group Accounts Payable Assistant role include:
  • Processing urgent payments as needed an verifying that they have been billed to the client. 
  • Preparing weekly/monthly payment runs for each office in different currencies.
  • Processing supplier invoices such as checking data on our internal system, nominal codes, exchange rates, and uploading them into the accounting system. 
  • Researching and resolving invoice errors and discrepancies
  • Provide supporting documentation for auditors. 
  • Assisting with month-end closing of the AP Ledger. 
  • Updating the AP ledger with all payments made to suppliers; providing remittance advise for suppliers
  • Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Communicating with suppliers and respond to questions within a set time frame. 
  • Monthly review on AP Ledgers, checking all payments have been allocated and looking into why old invoices are not paid. 
  • Collaborating with the vendor team to make certain that all suppliers' payment terms are established and met.
Requirements of the role:
  • Singaporean or PR status.
  • Proven experience working in finance and accounts.
  • Sound knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.
  • Great understanding of general accounting procedures.
  • Proven accounting software knowledge (Sage X3 is advantageous).
  • Experience working with different currencies. 
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Highly accurate with a keen eye for detail.
  • Great IT skills with MS Office proficiency, particularly Excel. 
  • Ability to foster strong working relationships.
  • Customer service expertise.
  • Business savvy. 
  • A quick learner with a can-do attitude. 
  • Discretion and strong understanding of confidentiality.
