Our client, a leading logistics company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Manager to lead their freight brokerage division. This top-level position is responsible for overseeing operations, ensuring profitability, and driving growth in their logistics sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight brokerage, including LTL, FTL, and International freight forwarding. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement contingent on a stable growth plan.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations within the freight brokerage division, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Manage P&L for the division, with a focus on maximizing profitability and driving revenue growth.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market presence and service offerings.
  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of services and operations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on financial performance, operational metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the freight brokerage or logistics industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of LTL, FTL, and International freight forwarding.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing P&L and driving profitability.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of implementing successful growth initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field; MBA preferred.
