Alchemy Global Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our client's team, a moving and relocation company based in Baltimore, MD.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and controlling all activities within the operations department. This role requires a strong leader who can ensure customer satisfaction, compliance with safety standards, and effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and organize human resources and physical assets to achieve operational objectives.
  • Provide leadership to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain high operational standards.
  • Oversee daily dispatch of manpower and equipment, ensuring efficient utilization.
  • Monitor shipment progress and resolve any service problems or non-compliance issues.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, agents, and other departments to address and resolve issues.
  • Implement and enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance within the department.
  • Mentor and train staff, providing on-the-job coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for equipment maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Assist in creating and implementing annual business plans to meet or exceed operating margins.
  • Manage and supervise all direct reports, fostering a positive and productive work environment.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the moving industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory agencies and safety standards in the moving industry.
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations and make effective decisions quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to implement effective solutions.
  • Experience in training and motivating employees to meet company standards.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL is preferred but not required.
