Our client, a leading packaging company is looking to hire a Regional Sales Manager to sell food packaging and processing solutions to the food industry. This position can be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Ohio. 

The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting for new business, providing quotations and closing new business. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Identify opportunities to sell food packaging and processing solutions to new and existing customers in the food industry 
  • Attend client sites for meetings to understand their needs and sell products to them  
  • Manage your time and travel plans efficiently to ensure your travel schedule maximizes the opportunity to meet with as many prospects as possible during each trip 
  • Create sales proposals and quotes depending on each specific client requirements to meet their needs  
  • Manage client expectations on the order process 
  • Ensure the CRM is kept up to date with accurate client and sales data 
  • Meet territory sales goals 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of the territory business plan
  • Attend industry events including meetings and trade shows 
  • Regularly monitor competitors in the territory            

Key Requirements:       
  • 5+ years experience selling customized capital equipment within the food processing and packaging industry 
  • Experience with long, complex sales cycle with numerous stakeholders in the food processing or food packaging industry  
  • Must have a valid drivers license and ability to obtain a passport 
  • Technical knowledge with capital equipment machinery and functionality
  • Strong computer skills and software use including Microsoft Office 365 
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills are essential for this position 
  • Bachelors degree preferred 
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time (travel both domestically and international)
