Responsibilities:
- Organise European trips using company vehicles, arrange inbound and outbound logistics and relevant documentation for European transportation.
- Aid with hiring decisions and business operations.
- Make sure the companies service is up to client, insurer and HMRC standards.
- Take part in staff meetings and regular operations meetings, mentor new additions to the team.
- Oversee the European Road Freight team.
- Verify that all shipments are packed to a high standard and that all import and export declarations are correct.
- Modify any declarations that are not correct.
- Ensure drivers within the team are working in a safe and legal manner and that the relevant vehicles are documented properly.
- Stay up-to-date on all customs legislation and update staff accordingly.
- Maintain and develop client relations.
- Manage quotes and invoicing needs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in an art shipping or related field is desirable. This could be in an arts warehouse or an art logistics and shipping setting.
- Specific EU transport experience is essential.
- Customs and freight experience is a must.
- Willingness and drive to learn is a must.
- Excellent skills in time management, customer service, communication, problem-solving, attention to detail and prioritizing.
- Great technical proficiency, knowledge including PC, iOS, Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
