Gallery Manager

Job Description

Alchemy is pleased to be working with an established art gallery, who are looking for an experienced Gallery Manager to join their team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all Gallery operations, ensuring the smooth running of the space
  • Management of all databases
  • Liaising and managing all contractors including installers, shippers and restorers
  • Client communication after the sales of art pieces
  • Review IADAA applications as well as report on changed within the Art Loss Register
  • Apply and track export licences on shipped art pieces
  • Assist finance team with cash payments and day to day banking
  • Dealing with business administration with regards to minute taking, contracts and preparing budgets
  • Liaising with storage companies in both the UK and USA
  • Deal with international shipments/updates on shipping
  • Management of the warehouse and Temporary admission
  • The overall upkeep of the gallery including meeting and greeting clients/customers, phone calls and emails

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a similar role in a Gallery, Auction House, or other art organisation
  • Proven administrative experience
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Temporary admissions and bonded warehouse experience is advantageous
  • Previous experience of Artlogic is beneficial
