Role:                    Trading Assistant
Location:             Nuneaton
Salary:                  £30,000 - £35,000

We are partnering with a leading organization company who are currently seeking a Trading Assistant to join their team based in Nuneaton.

The purpose of the Trading Assistant is to efficiently place orders for goods while considering availability, stock churn, and stock levels. Ensure a cooperative working atmosphere, minimize costs, and minimize losses while achieving compliance with all internal and external rules and requirements.


  • Communicate with the Company's outside experts, when necessary, about Health and Safety issues
  • Discusses product issues with national and local departments
  • Provides information regarding product data in the predetermined format to all pertinent departments
  • Communicates as necessary about Food Safety problems with the Company's outside advisors
  • Delivers pertinent information about special reorders to the Trading Director
  • Gives the Trading Director information about supplier performance and conducts analysis of it
  • Communicates with internal, external, and outside bodies
  • Orders products that have been assigned, keep track of stock levels, offers projections, and informs the Trading Director of any problems
  • Sends and receives data to National and all pertinent departments by fax, email, and bulletin
  • Completes Emergency Withdrawals and updates all pertinent departments
  • Assures the upkeep of the data necessary for regional product purchases
  • Order price cards that have been received from retailers are processed
  • Recalls defective or damaged products to the regional distribution center and plans for collection or supplier credit
  • Updates the Procedures Manual as necessary with any changes
  • Schedules health and safety training sessions as needed
  • If necessary, responds to consumer concerns within the scope of responsibilities
  • Keeps track of and maintains the legal minimum stock of calibrated temperature probes for stores
  • Plans for products to be examined by outside organizations if needed
  • Assures the security of all paper records and electronic data in the assigned region
  • Maintains adequate backups and logs for the data in their charge
  • Keeps the department's filing system effective and well-organized
  • Coordinates the disposal of all documentation within the scope of responsibility after the appropriate period for archiving it has passed
  • When necessary, imparts knowledge to other workers
  • Assures that the workspace and immediate vicinity are well organized
  • Assures that all community spaces are maintained in a suitable state


  • Prior experience in a Supply chain, Buying or Ordering role
  • Educated to GCSE/A Level
  • Organised, problem-solving, computer literate, confident communicator, detail-focused
  • Positive, collaborative can do attitude
  • Data Analytics experience would be desirable
