At Alchemy, we are working with an established New York Art and Design gallery who are looking to bring on an Associate Director. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the overall management of the gallery space. 
  • Coordinate and manage staff members including, art handlers, shippers and installation crews. 
  • Exhibitions and Art Fairs: Manage all aspects, including logistics, sourcing works, creating digital previews, and documenting installations.
  • Produce and create all art fair applications. 
  • Travel to art fairs when necessary, using the time to network, bring on clients and make sales.
  • Write and publish materials, design collateral, and maintain the exhibition’s digital presence.
  • Manage and update the gallery’s website. 
  • Create and develop relationships with artists. 
  • Sales and Client Relations: Make offers, sell artworks, and build relationships with clients, consignors, lenders, and artists.
  • Coordinate with art fair companies and handle applications, logistics, and travel.
  • Artist Relationships: Develop and maintain connections with artists, collaborate on exhibitions, and monitor market information.
  • Network and monitor information in market trends to build artist roster. 
  • Research and Archive: Conduct research on works and inventory, prepare press materials, and archive gallery press for exhibitions and artists.
