A business intelligence and strategic advisory firm based in New York is seeking a Manager, Strategic Intelligence to join its growing team. The Manager will lead complex due diligence, investigative research, and strategic intelligence projects for private equity firms, law firms, and multinational corporations across the United States and Canada. The successful candidate will combine commercial awareness, investigative research expertise, and strong client-facing capabilities to deliver high-quality intelligence that supports critical investment and strategic decisions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic intelligence and enhanced due diligence projects across the United States and Canada.
  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and open-source research into companies, markets, counterparties, and regulatory environments.
  • Analyse commercial, operational, reputational, and regulatory risks associated with investment targets and business partners.
  • Develop and execute intelligence-gathering strategies tailored to client objectives and project requirements.
  • Identify, vet, and cultivate human sources and external contacts across multiple industries and geographies.
  • Draft commercially focused, client-ready reports, briefings, and presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Present intelligence findings directly to deal teams, legal counsel, and C-suite executives.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Mentor and support junior analysts, providing guidance on research methodologies and analytical approaches.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver accurate, well-structured, and actionable intelligence products.
  • Assist with business development initiatives, including drafting project proposals and contributing to client pitches.
  • Monitor political, regulatory, and commercial developments relevant to client sectors and transactions.

Competencies required:

  • Minimum 3–4 years of experience in strategic intelligence, business intelligence, due diligence, consultancy, law, investigations, investment advisory, or corporate risk advisory.
  • Strong experience conducting open-source investigations using US-focused research databases, public records and intelligence-gathering techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting complex commercial reports and delivering client briefings.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong analytical judgement with exceptional attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior team members; Spanish language skills would be advantageous.
