Business Development Manager (Moving & Relocation)

Job Description

A leading international relocation provider is looking to hire a skilled Business Development Manager to join their sales team in Shanghai, China.

This position requires Business to Business sales experience in the Moving, Relocation and Logistics sectors.
The Business Development Manager requires will ideally have a strong client network and will have a great understanding of the local market.

You will be successfully responsible for identifying and winning new business and selling relocation services to corporate clients.

Duties of the Business Development Manager, Moving and Relocation include:
  • Identifying decision-making client contacts within organisations
  • Building a portfolio of prospective clients and fostering successful and profitable relationships 
  • Driving business sales effort by adopting a fast-paced strategic approach according to agreed sales strategy and sales process
  • Generating new business in line with annual sales and profit targets
  • Supporting ongoing marketing and advertising campaigns and generating awareness of company services
  • Orchestrate and lead RFQ opportunities by involving all needed Subject Matter Experts
  • Meet or exceed new contract revenue and margins in line with annual targets
  • Manage monthly sales call activity to achieve revenue goals
  • Initiate and complete proposals, presentations, terms and conditions, negotiations and execution for the acquisition of opportunities
  • Serving as a brand ambassador for the company and representing the team at industry conferences, awards and networking events
  • Participate in regional selling activity with colleagues across the wider region
  • Using competitor insights to maintain a successful stance on the relocation, global mobility and moving sector
  • Reviewing, updating and updating the company sales database
  • Undertaking other sales-related duties or projects that may be required from time to time
Key skills and experience required:
  • Ability to confidently sell a variety of business services Moving, Relocation and Logistics services to corporate clients 
  • Proven success within a B2B business-to-business sales role
  • Skilled in selling and developing relationships at all levels of an organization as well as at an executive level
  • Successful in selling and closing multi-stakeholder, complex solutions
  • Strong persuasion and influencing skills with a natural hunger for sales
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders, and decision-makers for long-term growth strategies
  • Proven sales and business development experience within the logistics, moving and relocation industry is preferred 
  • Great negotiation skills and experience handling contract reviews and agreement
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to plan, implement and deliver business goals
  • Professional networking skills with the ability to foster commercial relationships
  • Highly motivated with the drive and desire to 'win' and succeed
  • An honest and ethical approach to business
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin

Business development experience in one or more of the following is preferred; Relocation, International Moving, Logistics, Global Mobility and Destination Services.
