We are looking for a proactive Sales & Development Executive to join our vibrant team in Tilbury, Essex.
This role offers the chance to develop and grow business across all modes of transport within the global freight forwarding industry.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Identifying and sourcing new business opportunities through your own leads and those from Sales and Operations teams.
- Developing sales across FCL/LCL sea freight, air freight, and road freight for both import and export markets.
- Preparing accurate and comprehensive quotations including all necessary terms and conditions.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to drive business growth.
- Working flexibly both in-office and out in the field to meet client needs.
- Collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Keeping up to date with market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Negotiating effectively to secure profitable business deals.
- Maintaining accurate sales records and client communications using Microsoft Office tools.
- Contributing ideas and adapting to changing operational demands in the freight forwarding sector.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum two years’ experience in freight sales (sea, air, road) within a forwarding environment.
- Proven sales and business development track record.
- Strong knowledge of the global freight forwarding industry.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and organisational ability.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Friendly, approachable personality with strong team collaboration skills.
- Excellent English and mathematics skills.
- Ability to bring transferable business connections is a plus but not essential.
