We are working with a growing immigration practice that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Immigration & Human Rights Caseworker.

This is a varied casework position covering immigration, human rights, deportation, Pre-Action Protocol and Judicial Review matters. You will take responsibility for your own caseload, supporting clients throughout the process and ensuring all cases are prepared and progressed to a high standard.

This is a part-time role, working 20hours per week, working remotely with just 1 day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied caseload of immigration and human rights matters from initial instruction through to conclusion.
  • Prepare and progress Human Rights applications, including private and family life cases.
  • Handle Human Rights and deportation appeals, including reviewing Home Office decisions and supporting evidence.
  • Prepare Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) correspondence and manage matters through the relevant stages.
  • Assist with Judicial Review cases by reviewing decisions, identifying potential grounds and preparing supporting documentation.
  • Draft legal representations, client statements, applications, appeal bundles and other case documentation.
  • Review client instructions, supporting evidence and Home Office correspondence to identify key issues and required actions.
  • Keep case files, records and deadlines up to date, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, counsel and other relevant parties.
  • Stay informed on changes to UK immigration law, Home Office policy and relevant procedures.
Requirements
  • Solid experience handling Human Rights applications, particularly private and family life matters.
  • Experience with Human Rights and deportation appeals, including reviewing Home Office decisions and preparing supporting grounds and evidence.
  • Practical experience preparing and managing Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) correspondence.
  • Experience supporting or preparing Judicial Review matters.
  • Ability to review Home Office decisions, identify key issues and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Strong drafting skills, with experience preparing legal representations, statements, applications and appeal bundles.
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines.
