Financial Analyst
Job Description
We are partnering with an innovative Aerospace and Defense company that is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their team based in Milwaukee.
This individual will be responsible for assisting the finance team in delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining a strong system of internal control, and driving value through performing accounting activities and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reports for each segment (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement) at a consolidated level, and appropriate level of detail, monthly, in compliance with GAAP
- Finish the monthly financial work documents, including reconciliations
- Formulate and document verify account balances, make journal entries, and gather supporting documents
- Keep track of electronic payments received from customers and deposit incoming checks
- System for depositing checks, sending out sales invoices/customer account statements on a regular basis, reviewing customer payment terms, and payment history, AR collection coordination, and adjustment and credit processing for accepted returns disparities in price and quality
- Inspect new and existing client credit applications for accuracy and provide feedback based on available purchase history/projections, suggestions for Controller assessment, and approval of financial viability and payment activities (via Dunn & Bradstreet credit report)
- Prepare the required documentation to comply with the letter of credit payment terms for contracts/orders the letter of credit's terms and conditions
- Assist with all cash account monthly bank reconciliations and arrange any necessary changes
- Assist in the development of segment and consolidated budgets
- Regularly assess current conditions
- Performance against the budget and share the findings with the appropriate stakeholders
- Gather financial data and supporting information for the external auditors' annual audit interim evaluations and audits
- Provide auditors with assistance in the field by answering their queries, providing supporting evidence, and coordinating support for intermediate and year-end testing
- Assist the Controller with ad-hoc financial and/or qualitative tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
- Three years of related experience, including responsibilities in accounting and/or auditing, financial analysis, and budget preparation
- Advanced knowledge and grasp of widely accepted accounting standards in the United States (GAAP) and accounting controls
- A master's degree in accounting, financial reporting, or taxation is preferable but not required
- CPA qualification is desirable but not required
- Basic ERP system and cross-module integration understanding
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal analytical and communication skills
- Ability to communicate information to upper management in an effective manner
- Ability to operate successfully both in a group and on an individual basis

- The ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail accuracy
