A leading global services firm is seeking a Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits to join their Global Mobility Services team.
This position plays a key role in advising clients through complex corporate transactions, focusing on technical and operational aspects of compensation and benefits.
This role can be based in San Francisco, CA; San Jose, CA; Santa Clara, CA; or Seattle, WA.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver and manage a team supporting clients through corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, IPOs, and divestitures, focusing on compensation and benefits.
- Identify and analyse tax and operational risks related to employee reward programmes and draft technical memoranda.
- Design and map post-transaction operational processes for compensation, benefits, and share-based incentive programmes.
- Provide executive and employee communication support and ensure smooth integration of compensation and benefits post-transaction.
- Deliver the above services outside of deal contexts where applicable.
- Build and maintain senior-level client relationships while managing technical delivery and operational planning.
- Lead engagement teams in delivering consulting and compliance services efficiently.
- Oversee engagement risk, billing, financial performance, and team operations.
- Collaborate on business development and represent the firm in external and internal initiatives.
- Coach and develop junior staff, supporting growth and retention within the team.
Requirements:
- At least seven years’ recent experience in employer benefit strategy, with a strong focus on compensation and benefits.
- Proven experience in at least three of the following: total rewards, global compensation, equity taxation, M&A advisory, employment tax compliance, executive compensation, ASC 718/740, or incentive programme integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field; Law degree is a plus.
- Professional certification such as CPA, JD/LLM, EA or other recognised designations (e.g. CBP, CCP, CEBS, CPP, GPHR, SPHR, PHR).
- Experience managing large, complex, multinational client engagements and high-performing teams.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, anticipate client needs and identify service opportunities.
- Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills with a commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Previous Big4 or consulting experience is required.
- Happy to work a hybrid working structure.
