We're working with a moving and relocation company based in Rhode Island looking to hire a Senior General Manager to take on the role of President – Moving and Relocation. The business operates across three states including Rhode Island, around 50% of the work is Government and Military, with the remaining 50% coming from consumer moving, including interstate and overseas relocations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day delivery of Government, Military and consumer moving services.
- Coordinating operational requirements across interstate and overseas moves.
- Managing contractor-only labour and the utilisation of approximately 18–20 OTR trucks.
- Working closely with the sales teams across multiple branches.
- Monitoring operational performance and making sure staffing, equipment and resources are aligned with workload.
- Taking overall responsibility for the running of the business.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Senior operations management experience within the moving and relocation industry.
- Experience managing multi-location moving operations.
- Good knowledge of interstate moving and long-distance transportation.
- Experience with Government or Military household goods programmes.
- Strong operational and commercial understanding.
- Previous sales experience or experience working closely with sales teams (ideal).
