Alchemy is thrilled to be working with an established international auction house seeking a senior specialist to lead business development and consignment acquisition within a category focused on autographs and documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with senior stakeholders to grow and develop a specialist area of the collectibles market
- Source and secure material for sale through relationships with collectors, institutions, dealers, estates, and other market participants
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, research, referrals, and targeted outreach
- Assess items and collections for market suitability, authenticity, significance, and commercial potential
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while managing negotiations and commercial discussions
- Collaborate with internal teams to support successful sales, marketing initiatives, and category growth
Key Requirements:
- Experience within auctions, galleries, dealerships, cultural organisations, or another specialist collectibles market
- Strong knowledge of a relevant collecting field, such as historical objects, manuscripts, archival material, memorabilia, or comparable categories
- Proven ability to source opportunities and secure material for sale
- Excellent relationship-management, communication, and negotiation skills
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development and client engagement
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
