Associate Director of Operations

Alchemy is partnering with a renowned fine art storage organisation seeking an Associate Director of Operations to join its growing team in Denver, CO.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, this role would oversee its technical staff in Colorado ensuring the highest level of care and client service when it comes to the handling, storage, and transportation of fine art, fashion, and other collectibles.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage teams across Denver and Aspen facilities, ensuring high standards of client service and operational excellence.
  • Support  manager and supervisor leadership across Colorado, ensuring operational coverage and service delivery between facilities.
  • Coordinate and schedule all transport and technical service operations in partnership other managerial staff members. 
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for complex or large-scale service projects across the Colorado region, this will also include an on-site presence.
  • Oversee scheduling  of internal operations across Denver and Aspen, including inventory management, warehouse workflows, and crate construction.
  • Act a main point of contact with Account Management and Business Development teams to develop a great service to both new and existing clients.
  • Direct art handling staff across the region, making sure client requirements are aligned. 
  • Work alongside the Operations Compliance team to ensure adherence to TSA, including training and ongoing compliance.
  • Oversee storage operations at both facilities, ensuring safe handling practices, compliance with racking standards, forklift certifications, OSHA requirements, and inventory management. 
  • Oversee and manage budgets. 
  • Lead regional procurement of supplies and equipment. 
  • Recruit, hire, and onboard Operations team members as required. 
  • Establish performance goals and objectives in line with the Performance Management program, delivering semi-annual feedback and completing annual performance reviews for all direct and indirect reports.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. 
  • Partner with Facilities teams in Denver and Aspen to support ongoing building maintenance. 
  • Lead and support special projects that enhance warehouse scalability. 
  • Travel regularly between the Denver and Aspen facilities to support regional operations.

Qualifications & Skills: 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proactive with strong problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-site operational environments.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven understanding of coaching and team development. 
  • Ability to handle inventory systems. 
  • Ability to remain composed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Physically capable of performing occasional lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and pushing or pulling up to 150 lbs with equipment. 
  • 7+ years of experience in warehousing, logistics, project management, (fine art logistics experience preferred but not required)
