Business Intelligence Lead

Alchemy are currently partnering with a global technology firm who are looking to recruit an Business Intelligence Lead to be based in Amsterdam, NL.

Your responsibilities:
  • As a technical lead and product owner for the BI team, you will work closely with your internal clients and the data engineering & science team members to set product strategy and define and prioritize features. You distil the exact technical requirements from the business needs of our clients and are able to break them down to into concrete user stories. 
  • This role provides an exciting opportunity to define and build our commercial intelligence products from the ground up and evolve the product from early versions into a significant part of our business.
We are looking for: 
  • Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Deep Microsoft PowerBI experience and training.
  2. Technical knowledge of DAX.
  3. 5+ years of Relational Database experience.
  4. 8+ years of Business Intelligence experience.
  5. 2+ years of Python / R or equivalent experience for descriptive analytics.
  6. Strong experience in shipping innovative, commercially successful, customer-centric reporting and business intelligence products to global/local markets.
  7. Strong experience in digital/online marketing.
  8. Ability to develop a vision and strategy, to own a multi-year product roadmap, and to break that vision into phase and prioritize and drive backlogs with a dedicated engineering team.
  9. Experience managing complex product development cycles and highly technical solutions.
  10. Experience owning BI, instrumentation and data and analysis for your products to drive deep understanding, innovation and product plans.
  11. Success leading in a fast-paced agile environment.
  12. Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
  13. Ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  14. Affinity with Advanced Analytics and Data Science.
  15. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  16. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English.
  • Passion and possibly first experience in banking, preferably Retail Banking.

  • You work independently, can identify required next steps to solve problems, and stick to your principles despite external pressure to get it done.
