Category Manager
Job Description
Role: Category Manager Location: Nuneaton
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
We are partnering with a leading company who are currently seeking a Category Manager to join their organization based in Nuneaton.
This individual will be responsible for the long-term core range/seasonal product projections per category, article, or supplier.
Responsibilities:
- Supports national buying in managing strategies for new product introductions through the end of life, including temporary discontinuations/ re-introductions, substitutions, and product forecasts as needed
- Manage an efficient flow of correspondence and information with internal and external parties, ensuring an ongoing understanding of current issues and taking appropriate action where necessary
- Management and evaluation of major events
- Forecasting of new/repeat special buys, as well as order quantity suggestions for store/region
- Special Buys allocation planning and execution
- Assist in making decisions on lower allocations for stores with limited space
- Planning for markdowns and communicating with National Purchasing
- Determine and implement stock re-allocation between stores/distribution centers (DCs)
- Along with National Buying, actively engage with suppliers to improve agreed-upon KPIs
- Managing returns at the escalation level
- Identify and execute techniques to measure and improve operational performance in collaboration with the larger supply chain team
Requirements:
- Ability to recognize data patterns and draw meaningful conclusions
- Exceptional knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as the ability to establish good working connections with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Ability to handle a diverse workload, competing deadlines, and many projects at the same time
- Supply Chain processes and using data analytical experience
- Supply Chain forecasting experience
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Systems and ability to use SQL/VBA to analyse data
- Staff management experience is essential
- Minimum 2:2 degree or equivalent
