Supply Chain Project Manager

Job Description

We are partnering with a leading retail company who are currently seeking a Supply Chain Project Manager to join their organization based in Nuneaton.

This individual will be responsible for leading, developing, and training the supply chain project team and they will be focused on delivering the highest standard for automated materials handling equipment in a distribution context through effective operations or project management.


  • Establishes and maintains positive working connections with outside partners.
  • Manage partners according to contract specifications, ensuring that performance is tracked and reported for continual development
  • Ensuring that the Project meets or exceeds the required levels of availability, performance, and compliance with agreed-upon KPIs (KPI)
  • Managing the Capex budget from start to finish throughout the project, identifying and leading investigations, mitigation implementation, and recovery processes for any faults or loss of performance
  • Team development and training, as well as performance reviews and support
  • Working with the Operations Team, identify, design, and coordinate Continuous Improvement projects, creating detailed plans to achieve targets, and coordinating the integration of technical activities (e.g. revisions)
  • Working with the Operations Team to manage resources to analyze and support project feasibility
  • Becoming aware of new technologies and applications that may improve the equipment's and operations' performance
  • Proposals and reports, with supporting business cases, are developed, critiqued, and presented
  • Ongoing communication with onsite operations to determine operating requirements
  • System status, performance, and availability should be reported and communicated
  • Managing and sustaining communication among the construction crew, the operations team, Automation suppliers, and other third parties
  • Performing administrative tasks such as evaluating and drafting reports, approving expenditures, administering policies, and making purchasing decisions
  • Managing staff and assisting with the hiring and onboarding of new employees
  • Claims, invoicing, and payments for Spares, Warranty, and Wear and Tear Parts are reviewed and authorized
  • Handling requests for changes


  • Over 5 years of supply chain experience within a large organization
  • Experience with automated warehouse operations or project management
  • Previous experience managing supply chain projects and people
  • Stakeholder management experience at all levels
  • Strong office abilities in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and Outlook are required
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management and control systems
