This role will scope, lead and support art handlers on complex projects primarily as they relate to offsite field service work.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of experienced art handlers, including freelance and temporary staff, across complex projects and day-to-day operations.
- Plan and manage offsite installations and de-installations, ensuring accurate inventory control and on-site client support as required.
- Oversee and coordinate third-party vendors and contractors offsite, including craters, riggers, household movers, and fabricators.
- Conduct site assessments to accurately estimate labour, materials, and equipment requirements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Deliver exceptional client service, maintaining high levels of satisfaction for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a key liaison between clients, Account Management, and Operations teams, providing timely updates and feedback on project status.
- Establish and uphold best practices for packing and installation, working closely with Operations leadership to ensure consistent training, mentoring, and technical standards across the team.
- Provide regular performance feedback and operational insights to management.
- Collaborate with other technical managers and support cross-functional projects as needed.
- Assist with training and development of art handling staff when required.
- Perform Art Handler/Driver duties as scheduled, assuming all associated responsibilities in line with UOVO standards.
- Support additional projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- 5–7 years of experience in art handling, logistics, or related technical operations.
- Proven experience working with art professionals and high-value collections
- Demonstrated leadership and people-management capability.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
- Physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy loads (up to 150 lbs with equipment and 50 lbs unaided).
- Clean driving record with experience operating 24-foot box trucks within the Greater Denver area.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs over distances of up to 90 feet.
