An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leader in art logistics and luxury storage services, seeking a Director of Business Development in Long Island City, NY. This role is ideal for a strategic sales leader who thrives in a high-performance, commission-driven environment and brings a proven ability to secure complex, high-value service contracts within the art, fashion, and luxury sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Lead the identification, pursuit, and acquisition of large-scale business opportunities aligned with strategic service offerings across art handling, logistics, and archival storage.
  • Track, prepare, and manage responses to national Requests for Proposals (RFPs) within the art, fashion, design, luxury retail, and cultural sectors.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of project-based service opportunities across multiple markets.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Technical Operations, Estimates, Account Management) to convert client scopes into operationally feasible solutions.
  • Develop compelling proposal materials, case studies, and differentiation strategies in collaboration with marketing.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with key stakeholders in the art world—museums, galleries, collectors, advisors—as well as fashion and cultural institutions.
  • Provide accurate revenue forecasts and pipeline updates to leadership.
  • Deeply understand internal operational processes to effectively position service solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Drive revenue across multiple business lines, including storage, logistics, and project management.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and client meetings nationally.
  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Support the execution of additional business development projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:
  • 5–10 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably within art services, logistics, fashion, museums, or luxury-related industries.
  • Proven track record of securing major RFPs or high-value service contracts.
  • Strong background in pricing strategies, solution development, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in proposal writing.
  • Strategic thinker with deep market insight and strong client relationship skills.
  • Comfortable engaging with executive-level stakeholders and managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Willingness to travel for client visits, site inspections, and industry engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; background in the arts, luxury, or fashion is a plus
