This role will lead content curation, acquisition, and programming, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure a high-quality, future-focused inflight entertainment portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a long-term content strategy informed by passenger insights, market trends, and competitive analysis, with a clear view of future content needs.
- In partnership with the Entertainment Manager (Content Partnerships), build and maintain strong relationships with studios, distributors, content providers, and licensing agencies to secure premium and diverse entertainment offerings.
- Lead the curation, selection, and acquisition of inflight entertainment content, ensuring all content meets quality, relevance, diversity, and brand standards.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and evolving audience preferences to continuously refresh and expand the content catalogue.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of content delivery systems within the inflight entertainment platform, optimising both passenger experience and content management efficiency.
- Use data analytics and passenger feedback to assess content performance, identifying opportunities to improve engagement, satisfaction, and revenue outcomes.
- Ensure full compliance with licensing agreements, copyright legislation, and industry regulations, proactively managing any regulatory or contractual risks.
- Own the overall programming and scheduling of inflight entertainment, delivering a balanced and engaging mix of movies, TV, music, games, and other media formats tailored to passenger preferences.
- Undertake additional departmental responsibilities as required by the Head of Department.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 9 years’ experience in entertainment content curation, acquisition, partnerships, and programming.
- Strong understanding of streaming and OTT trends, particularly as they relate to inflight entertainment and the wider media ecosystem.
- Proven experience in content acquisition, licensing, partnerships, and distribution across streaming, broadcast, or inflight entertainment environments.
- Solid knowledge of inflight entertainment systems, media integration platforms, and related hardware.
- Strong commercial acumen, including an understanding of content licensing models, pricing structures, and operational costs.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term content strategies aligned to business goals.
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with digital content delivery technologies and inflight entertainment platforms.
- Understanding of the aviation industry and the competitive dynamics of inflight entertainment.
