Alchemy is partnering with a leading airline seeking a Senior Manager Business Finance - Planning & Analysis to join their team in Doha, Qatar. 

This role is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of financial data that supports strategic planning, financial forecasting, and the annual budgeting process. The position also involves analysing operational and market data to generate insights and reports that support informed decision-making across the organisation.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial insight and strategic support to senior leadership through board reports, financial presentations, expenditure analysis, and unit revenue/cost metrics.
  • Deliver a long-term financial perspective supported by KPIs to drive continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the development of financial business cases for major investments and strategic initiatives, including confidential external ventures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build strong relationships and support strategic projects.
  • Work closely with corporate planning teams to develop and maintain the organisation’s five-year strategic business plan and support sustainable growth initiatives.
  • Analyse and monitor financial performance, providing forward-looking insights on the organisation’s financial position.
  • Ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of month-end reporting, including operational and financial variance analysis.
  • Develop financial models and analytical tools to support strategic planning and business initiatives.
  • Manage the annual budgeting cycle in alignment with the corporate business plan, productivity targets, and cost objectives.
  • Identify financial risks and provide data-driven recommendations to support effective decision-making.
  • Set departmental goals and priorities aligned with wider business objectives.
  • Continuously review and refine departmental processes, procedures, and performance to improve effectiveness.
  • Lead the preparation, execution, and analysis of budgets across operational overhead departments.
  • Drive strategic business initiatives by developing structured business cases and evaluating investment opportunities.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience within the airline or aviation industry.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience developing financial and operational models to support strategic planning and major business initiatives.
  • Strong experience presenting financial insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial variances, business cycles, and their impact on profit and loss performance.
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and internal reporting processes.
  • Experience in cost centre accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading digital transformation initiatives.
