At Alchemy we are working with a global logistics company who are looking to bring on a Fine Art Operations Manager to their London team.

Responsibilities: 
  • Acting as one of the first key hires within the Fine Art division, supporting its launch and operational build-out.
  • Managing the full lifecycle of international fine art shipments, from client enquiry through to final delivery.
  • Scoping and responding to client requests, understanding timelines, risk, and handling requirements in detail.
  • Preparing detailed and commercially sound quotations for full end-to-end logistics services.
  • Reviewing job margins, profitability, and addressing cost concerns with subcontractors and freight partners.
  • Coordinating international shipments and bookings with global fine art subcontractors and forwarders.
  • Overseeing all documentation, shipment tracking, and operational updates within internal systems.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to fine art transport, packing, crating, and handling standards.
  • Managing complex international movements involving customs, export licences, and cultural goods compliance.
  • Collaborating with the Global Head of Fine Art to build scalable, high-quality operational processes.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients and partners during shipment execution.
  • Supporting the growth and structure of a new business line within a secure, global logistics company.

Qualifications: 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fine art logistics with a strong operational background.
  • In-depth knowledge of international airfreight, airline handling, AWBs, routings, and secure cargo movement.
  • Strong understanding of customs processes including CITES, bonded imports, temporary admissions, and cultural export laws.
  • Proven ability to manage global subcontractors and complex, multi-stage fine art shipments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects for galleries, collectors, exhibitions, and fairs worldwide.
  • Additional language skills (French, Spanish, German, Italian, Arabic, Mandarin/Cantonese) highly desirable.
