Alchemy is partnering with an international fine art logistics provider to appoint an experienced Technical Director to its Paris-area operations. This senior position ensures the technical quality, safety, and precision of fine art handling, packing, transport, and installation projects across France and internationally.


Acting as the main technical reference for commercial, coordination, and operational teams, the Technical Director supports project planning, oversees complex assignments, conducts technical site assessments, and leads training to uphold best-in-class standards.
Regular travel to client sites, museums, galleries, and operational facilities is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical advisor for commercial and coordination teams on project planning and execution.
  • Conduct technical site visits and prepare clear assessments outlining operational requirements and risks.
  • Define packing specifications, oversee the production of custom materials, and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure technical excellence across field teams, warehouse operations, and packing workshops.
  • Implement and reinforce operational procedures, carrying out audits to monitor quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Support security processes, including those related to air freight and recognised accreditation standards.
  • Lead special or complex projects, serving as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Provide technical insights to internal managers and contribute to ongoing commercial development and operational improvement.


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in fine art packing, handling, and transport.
  • Deep understanding of industry practices and advanced technical proficiency.
  • Strong communication abilities and the capacity to guide and support teams.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous, methodical approach.
  • Comfortable working with digital tools and operational software.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently across France and occasionally abroad.
  • Fluency in French and English.
