We're working with a moving and relocation company in New York City that is looking to hire a Local Dispatcher to support daily move operations. This role will focus on coordinating crews, managing schedules, communicating with customers and ensuring moves are organised from start to finish.
As a Moving Dispatcher, your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating daily and overnight moving schedules and assigning crews to jobs.
- Communicating with movers, drivers and customers regarding move details and updates.
- Monitoring move progress and addressing scheduling changes or operational issues.
- Maintaining accurate move records and updating customer information.
- Supporting dispatch planning to ensure resources are allocated effectively.
- Working with operations teams to resolve customer and crew queries.
- Reviewing move documentation to ensure information is complete and accurate.
Our client is particularly interested in candidates with:
- Previous experience in moving and relocation dispatch.
- Knowledge of residential moving operations and move scheduling processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good communication skills when dealing with customers, crews and internal teams.
- The ability to work in a busy operations environment and handle changing priorities.
- Capability of working 6 days per week during the busy season, moving to rotational Saturdays after the summer.
