An established moving and relocation company is looking for a Long-Distance Move Coordinator based in Manhattan, New York. This position will manage interstate household goods relocations, coordinating each move from the initial handover through loading, transit and final delivery.
To succeed in this Long-Distance Move Coordinator role you'll ideally have:
- Hands-on experience coordinating long-distance or interstate household goods moves.
- A good understanding of HHG transportation and long-distance moving procedures.
- Experience dealing with drivers, dispatch teams and origin and destination services.
- The ability to manage several shipments at different stages of the move process.
- Strong customer communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail when handling move documentation, schedules and shipment information.
No two days are ever the same, but yourLong-Distance Move Coordinator responsibilities will include:
- Planning long-distance moves and monitoring shipments through each stage of the relocation.
- Coordinating load and delivery dates with drivers, operations teams and customers.
- Reviewing move documentation and checking shipment details before dispatch.
- Tracking goods in transit and communicating schedule changes or delays to customers.
- Working with origin and destination teams to organise services at both ends of the move.
- Handling customer queries, service changes and issues that arise while shipments are in transit.
- Maintaining accurate records throughout the move and completing files once delivery has taken place
