What You’ll Be Doing:
- Conduct expert assessments, descriptions, and evaluations of artworks, particularly in classical modernism, post-war, and contemporary categories.
- Acquire artworks and build client relationships in Germany and internationally through travel and networking.
- Maintain and develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and collectors.
- Assist in preparing, executing, and following up on art auctions.
- Write catalogue texts and perform pricing and market analysis to support valuation and sales.
- Collaborate on creating and implementing sales strategies across various art genres.
- Present and promote works on paper and other art forms effectively to clients and collectors.
- Work closely with auction and management teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Travel regularly to client sites and private collections for acquisitions.
- Engage in customer service activities with a high level of professionalism and expertise.
- Contribute to the development of marketing and promotional materials related to auctions.
- Support organisational goals with a structured, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
- A degree in art history or a related discipline.
- Several years of professional experience in art dealing, auctions, or with modern/contemporary art.
- In-depth knowledge of classical modernism, post-war and contemporary art; ideally with expertise in works on paper.
- Native-level German language skills and excellent English; other languages are a plus.
- Strong communication skills, a confident demeanour, and a business-minded, customer-oriented approach.
- Class B driving licence with travel flexibility for acquisition trips.
