Overview:
A rapidly expanding hospitality organisation is seeking an experienced hotel sales professional to lead growth for a newly acquired hotel portfolio in Washington, DC. With approximately 250 rooms to fill across a growing footprint, this role requires a highly connected local market expert with a proven background in hotel sales, business development, and occupancy growth.

This is a client facing role focused on driving hotel bookings. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the Washington, DC hospitality sector and strong relationships with corporate clients, travel managers, government accounts, and local organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive local sales strategy to maximise occupancy.
  • Identify and secure corporate, government, group, and transient business opportunities within the Washington, DC market
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, travel buyers, event planners, relocation firms, and tourism partners
  • Drive sales through networking, client meetings, local partnerships, and business development initiatives
  • Manage RFPs, negotiated corporate rates, and group sales opportunities
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and demand drivers to identify revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate closely with operations, revenue management, and leadership teams to ensure commercial success
  • Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, and trade associations
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline, pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting
  • Support brand awareness and local positioning as the portfolio expands

Requirements:

  • Proven success in hotel sales, hospitality business development, or commercial leadership roles
  • Strong existing network within the Washington, DC hotel and hospitality market
  • Demonstrated track record of driving occupancy and revenue growth for hotel properties
  • Experience selling into corporate, government, group, and extended stay segments
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of hotel sales cycles, revenue strategies, and market dynamics
