About the role
We're seeking an Operations Coordinator to join a busy Military Services team and help coordinate household goods shipments (HHGs) for military personnel.
This is a fast-paced role where you will collaborate with clients, carriers, destination agents, and internal teams to keep shipments on track, maintain correct records, and ensure that moves go as smoothly as possible.
Responsibilities
- Maintain correct shipment records by utilising the company's tracking system.
- Get linehaul quotes and arrange domestic transportation.
- Track shipments with steamship lines, trucking vendors, railroads, and destination agents.
- Update shipment information, such as container details, sailing schedules, and expected arrival dates for imports and exports.
- Assign destination agents and arrange services for each move.
- Process new shipment orders and ensure that all documentation is correct and up to date.
- Respond to consumer questions and send shipment updates.
- Assist with claim management when needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure shipments are delivered effectively.
- Perform other operational and administrative activities as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in operations or relocation coordination for DOD moves from the moving and relocation sector.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Confident at managing different systems and keeping accurate records.
- Capable of prioritising workload and managing several activities in a busy environment.
- Self-motivated and competent to work under minimum supervision.
