Safety Manager

Job Description

Our client, a New York based Art Moving and Storage company are seeking a Safety Manager to join their Operations team!

Key responsibilities Include:

  • Manage and ensure that the Health and Safety policy is integrated and adequate for the demands of the US Operations team
  • Conduct and prepare for all health and safety meetings for US operations
  • Ensure that all local and federal laws are followed and the company conforms at all times
  • Provide insights and reports as to how the company can better their policies
  • Create and implement health and safety plans and procedures in the workplace, carry out safety-related training and learning programmes
  • Manage sites and inspect for safety, including fire and accident hazards
  • Monitor employee safety regulations and policies to improve and prevent safety issues
  • Work with HR to handle claims in the case of a workplace accident
  • Assist and manage presentations on promoting health and safety

Skills and attributes:

  • Produce detailed reports and create safety procedures, acknowledging when safety conditions need improvement
  • Ability to connect with people at various levels within companies and with people outside of organisations
  • Extensive attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and capable of working alone when necessary
  • Organizational, leadership, and motivating abilities are essential
  • Excellent time management skills, as well as a track record of meeting deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise duties, which is particularly important while dealing with an accident or crisis
  • Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software expertise
  • Team player who can collaborate with others on a local and global level in a fast-paced setting
